Elyse and Dan's Engagement Session

Elyse and Dan's engagement session in Granby was a lot of fun! Dan and Elyse decided they wanted pictures with the massive Granby Oak, a white oak tree that is featured on its town seal. The tree was significantly damaged by Hurricane Irene and the October snow storm last year, but it is impressive to behold. Dan's family's tree care business looks after the oak.

After that, we took a trip over to the local public farm. I'm a sucker for deep red barn backgrounds.

Elyse made some awesome muffins-- both blueberry and chocolate chip-- for the morning session. It is hard to match Elyse's baking skills, but photographer food is always welcome for engagement sessions. It may even result in better pictures. Studies won't confirm nor deny.

Elyse and Dan were a lot of fun to photograph. They volunteered to climb even higher on the oak tree, but I don't think we could have beaten the pictures from the lower branch.

I am looking forward to the wedding in April!
