Rebekah and Thomas

Every time I turned around at Rebekah and Tom's wedding, there was something more to photograph. I felt a little like a kid in an arcade with two fists full of quarters. (A very mature kid, I assure you.) I ended the night with about 30% more images than typical. Extra images is a good problem to have :-)

Rebekah and Tom's love for one another was evident, especially on the dance floor at the Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield. It was a joy to be able to capture their playful sub-dramas as they danced the night away.

This is the first time I've seen a flower girl bolt up the aisle! She was a little hesitant until she found Nemo in her mother's hand. (Note to self: get picture of Nemo to put above camera for formals with kids.) If you recognize her, it may be from the Grow gallery on the site. She has grown up quite a bit since-- good to see that the gallery is working properly ;-)

Melissa Vandermause helped out. She took a number of excellent pictures, as you can see.

Wedding of Babs and Tyson

It is always good to have a camera. This past weekend I was chaperoning a winter retreat at Monadnock Bible Conference Center when a couple spring chickens decided to walk down the aisle together. (Technically it was a civil union, because chickens aren't allowed to be married in the state of New Hampshire. But I don't think they cared much for technicality.) With no more than 30 minutes notice, I rushed back to the dorm to grab my camera and 70-200 f/4 lens. (Great outdoor lens, not so great for dimly lit chapels!) I returned in time for the magical moment, and firing off a dozen careful shots I was able to capture one that was fairly sharp.

Backstory: the 200 or so campers are divided into two teams for the weekend. One way to earn points for the teams is to find and return rubber chickens that are planted around the camp. The first night, one young lady brought up a chicken with some sort of fluffy apparel around the neck. The M.C. said that more elaborate costumes could potentially earn extra points.

Wedding of Sara and Christian

Welcome to the wedding of Sara and Christian, not to be confused with the wedding of Sarah and Christian back in October. The ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Parish in Greenwich. The reception was held at The Canyon Club in Armonk, NY. The weather was mild and the light was gorgeous for the photowalk on the beach. I was following the taxicab (you'll see) on the way to the beach. As we were traveling through the park, it was interesting to see pedestrians' reactions to seeing the newlyweds in the cab: to the pedestrians, the couple was a dash of spring in the middle of winter. Sara's godfather and grandmother tore up the dance floor-- he was a magician during a special dance with Sara. The cake cutting was a little messy, but Sara and Christian kissed and made up. (Seven years of good luck, because it shows that they can work out their problems.) Christian shared special dances with his mother and mother-in-law. The garter toss was competitive to say the least. (Everything they say about what happens in the bottom of football pileups....) But fierce competition makes for romantic endings, right? Congratulations, Sara and Christian!
