Liz and Russell Eng Session

Liz and Russell's Engagement session at Huntington State Park Tuesday in Redding was great! The session took place after the initial thunderstorm and before the big thunderstorm that evening-- what luck! We had some sun part of the session, which was good, but even the cloudy skies were good for pictures.

Previously, Russell proposed to Liz in another area of the park. It was a nice change of pace to photograph an engagement session along trails because the scenes are much different than beaches and human-designed parks, which can also be nice.

Congratulations to Liz and Russell! I am looking forward to the wedding in September!

"How could she say 'no'?"

Flashback to Caroline and Matt's Engagement session. I always enjoy getting to know how TFP wedding clients met each other, what they like to do, and what their interests are. Caroline, Matt, Lisa, and I were walking from Walnut Beach to Silver Sands along the boardwalk when we were talking about their engagement ring and I brought up the recent Fancy Feast commercial. Caroline knew the one as soon as I said "cat," I believe, and Lisa said to Caroline, "How could she say 'no'?" I thought to myself, "This is too good to be true."

Fast forward to a Newport on Saturday. Lisa and I had just finished touring The Breakers, one of the Vanderbilt mansions. We were walking around the grounds behind the building when I said that my feet were getting tired and pointed to a bench. Lisa decided that she wanted a picture of our sandals/feet together. After that, I told Lisa that I had a "Newport present". (Months before, Lisa said I could lie to her to protect the secrecy of the engagement ring.) From my backpack I pulled out a box a little smaller than a square foot. (It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to wrap the box and another 20 minutes to wrap it.) Lisa liked the box because it had yellow ribbon. Lisa opened it up and smiled as she saw the little, fluffy stuffed cat (artificial). She read the cat tag, but it didn't fully click until I knelt down on one knee. (Pictures below. Description ABOVE some images)

All these pictures were taken with Lisa's Panasonic GF1 camera.

Lisa wanted a picture of this European weeping tree.

Lisa and I shared this Margarita.

Lisa liked her King Crab Legs.

Copperfield. What a great cat!

The ring. Needed to photograph it in the shade because of where the sun was in the sky (time of day), so this picture doesn't show off its sparkliness, Lisa's favorite quality of the ring, I believe.

A couple more pictures on the bench

Beautiful woman with good-enough-looking flowers outside Marble House

A stranger was kind enough to take our picture and not steal Lisa's camera.

Lisa loves unicorns. I think it's because they look like horses.

Beautiful woman!

Lisa said I needed to sneak up on this bunny and photograph her/him.

Leslie and Jerry

Leslie and Jerry's wedding at Inn at Longshore in Westport was wonderful! There was a chance of a shower a few minutes before the ceremony, but the soon-to-be newlyweds still decided to have the ceremony outside, and I'm glad they did! The sky opened up and the sun shined through the next couple hours. It was the first ceremony--and surely not the last-- in which the bride and groom decided that rock-scissors-paper would determine the order of vows. And when it was time for the garter removal, Jerry was asked to perform an alluring dance as part of the build-up. While Jerry's dancing skills are lightyears ahead of my own, it became a hand-over-face moment for both Leslie and Jerry.

Don't you love Leslie and Jerry's traditional attire?

Congratulations to Leslie and Jerry! Best of luck!

Samantha and Adam

Sam and Adam's wedding at Simsbury Inn was great! The sun lit up the outdoor ceremony and Sam and Adam didn't tire of looking into each others' eyes throughout the day, which is great because it makes my job much easier (see pictures below). Sam and Adam, may your life together be as wonderful as your wedding day! Congratulations!

Caroline and Matt

Here are a few pictures from Caroline and Matt's engagement session at Silver Sands in Milford. The boardwalk was just completed a couple months ago. It made the walk from Walnut Beach and back much more effortless (or less effortful, if you prefer). What a gorgeous day for Caroline and Matt's engagement. Can't wait for the wedding in September!

Many pictures taken by Lisa Tifft.
