Brave Generation Conference

While photographing the Brave Generation Conference in Marlborough, MA this past weekend, I was struck by this: there is a subtle, yet definite, difference between reaching out one's hands to praise music and reaching out one's hands to honor God. The conference centered around "being used by God as a 'Vessel of Honor', which entails living a pure and holy life," as the website says. For a generation that is saturated with socially accepted lies, the idea of turning from temptation is often met with bewilderment. Our shortsighted generation is desperately in need of the light of God. The conference examined how repentance and accountability are crucial for those who want to spread this light.

Wedding at Water's Edge

I had the opportunity to photograph Kristin and Bill's wedding at Water's Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook yesterday. What a great couple! This is another example of how valuable positive attitudes can be. For instance, even though Bill was (allegedly) stabbed in the mouth during the cake cutting, he came back for seconds (scroll to bottom to see). Special thanks to Lynda Houghtaling of Details Wedding & Party Planning, who made it easy to capture exquisite details. It was also a pleasure to work with Jenny Lamy. Good luck Kristin and Bill!

Vote

I need your help choosing a new "about" picture for my website. Friends, family, other photographers, and stalkers are welcome. Comment which you like best: 'a', 'b', or 'c'. Extra credit: why do you like it best?

Relay for Life

A couple weeks ago I had an opportunity to photograph a Relay for Life event at Quinnipiac University. It was encouraging to see so many Quinnipiac students support the fight against cancer. $97,000 was raised for the cause.

Ben Huggins, representing Relay for Life, encourages the student body to continue to have hope.

Students took laps throughout the night as part of the fundraiser.

The students put glowsticks into paper bags that were created in remembrance of love ones lost.

PB & J

The Photographers' meeting at Megan LaBerbera's yesterday was great. I met a lot of new faces. We discussed album design, workflow, interaction with clients, and other important topics.

Here stands Jacob Bergmeier. You may recognize him from a previous post. If you click on him, he gets bigger, but still not life-size.

Using deductive reasoning can you tell what time it is from this picture?

If I were a woman, I'd go to my hair stylist and ask for the Robin Dini.
